Back

Well I haven't posted anything for quite some time - a lot of personal things happening and it really hasn't been a great few months but hopefully am getting back on track now and life has settled down a little.  Will be thinking about new post ideas in the run up to christmas - can't believe it is this time of year already!

My Malden Week #1

Here is the seperate post that I mentioned in the previous one - this provides a look at my personal Malden week.  I use this planner at the weekend - I love my Chameleon but I really don't want to have to lug it round with me at the weekend.  The issue that I have had with using a different filofax at the weekend is that the week can look really bare and I don't like that.  Then along came 365/30 Lists - a facebook page for Philofaxers which gives a list topic for each day of the month.  This started in September and if you follow everything filofax, then I am sure it is something that you will have come across - if not, here is the link to the facebook page:

Filofax 365/30 Group

I decided this was just what I needed for my Malden during the week to make sure it was used everyday.  I tend to sit down for 5 or 10 mintues at the end of the day and make my list, it is really nice to have even that small amount of 'me' time.  At the weekend, I can spend a little longer thinking about it and it's ideal to take to my local Starbucks for a coffee and quality time with Malden!

Work Week #1

There are a number of blogs that I enjoy reading that have a regular post which gives an overview of their filofax week.  As all the best ideas are commonly replicated, I am going to do the same and provide an overview of both my work week, which I use my A5 Chameleon and in a seperate post I will also provide a look at my personal Malden which I use mainly at weekends.

This is my work week - there was quite a lot of empty space this week, not because I wasn't busy but simply because I didn't have too many appointments.  I find that I have to fill the empty space but I've not even been very successful at that this week!

I really feel that I need to be neater and pay more
attention when writing things down.  I accidently
put in two appointments for Tuesday when they were
actually for Wednesday!

As you can see, losts of white space on the half.  Must
do better next week!

Monday 3 September 2012

Well here it is......

The official olympics 2012 filofax organiser.  I bought this after reading a post on the Philofaxy Facebook page - Staples had them on sale and I just can't resist a bargain.  The truth is I have no need for a new filofax but when there is a massive £28 saving, who can say no?! Considering it isn't leather I actually quite like how it feels.  Here come the pictures - I've had a bit of trouble with formatting tonight so it is a bit out in places:

Front and back - I would have preferred the blue one but the pink is quite nice.  It isn't as bubblegummy as in this picture but the light wasn't great when I took the picture.

The diary sheets during the olympics are a day per page.

On the non-olympic dates the diary goes to a week on one page with a page on the right that could be used for any sort of notes.

Lots of information pages about events both for olympics and paralympics.

Notes pages

Dividers - I'm not a big fan of them being pre-printed as I like to be able to decide how to divide things myself

Probably worth the £4 by itself is the today page marker - I really like it!

Inside front cover

The pictures are a little out of order but hopefully you can see enough of the planner.  I really have no idea what I will use it for and am contemplating giving it to my daughter to try and encourage her to be more organised and create some good habits but can I bring myself to pass it over?  Ummmm....not sure!

Not another one!!

Considering I didn't own 1 Filofax 3 months ago, I now have 3 with another 1 on its way!! I will follow with pictures when I get the new one.

Watch this space ..........

What's in my bag

Hello, I thought I would do a very quick what's in my bag post today.  I love looking at what other people carry around with them.  I'm surprised at mine as I am travelling fairly light at the moment - I normally have much more than this.  I do tend to go for big bags so it's no surprise that they can get a bit full.  Here is my current bag:

This is just a standard bag from Next.  I do quite like it at the moment
although the handles are quite short so I can't sling it over my shoulder.

Inside view - this is really, really neat for me!

So I have my A5 Chameleon, Kindle, pencil case (from Tesco I think)
I then have my Cath Kidston purse, a 4 colour pen, my slimming world book and my keys
Final row is my work blackberry, earphones and kindle charger, business card holder (from Moo), my iPod Nano for the gym, my current purfume (Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir), a couple of lip glosses and an eyebrow tweezer (no idea why that is there) and a hair band.

I've noticed that my iPhone is missing - it must have been on my desk and not in my bag when I emptied it!

Countdown

Just a quick thought - there are 17 weeks until Christmas (from next week)!!  How do you use your filofax to help plan for the festive season?  The only thing that I have at the moment is a page where I am putting ideas for gifts down, otherwise I will forget them.  I have also started a list of gifts that I have bought, there is only one on that list at the moment.

Bamboo

Hi

A bit of a break between posts but am back at work after a week off so back to the normal routine so don't have as much spare time. This is just a quick post to show my new filo that I've just got from eBay. It's a bamboo style - have never seen it before I came across it on ebay but liked it and I have been wanting to try a pocket size to see how it works. It isn't set up yet as I have literally just received it but here are some (not very good!) pictures.

It looked lighter on the ebay picture but I like
that it is a little darker

It is really soft

Sorry it is a bit blurry

It doesn't lie anywhere near flat but I still
really like it.  Needs a lot of training!

A handy zip pocket at the back

I have no idea at this stage how I will use it but I am looking forward to spending some time at the weekend deciding what to do and making it look pretty!

Cheshire Ice Cream Farm

Today we visited an ice cream farm in Cheshire, not a great idea for someone on a diet but my daughter and nephew had a lovely time.  If you are in the area it is worth a visit http://www.cheshirefarmicecream.co.uk/.  It doesn't cost anything for admission and the activity prices are reasonable.  It was really busy today because the weather was good and kids particularly enjoyed looking at the animals.  The alpaca's were sweet  - they do have lovely faces!

Enjoying a picnic lunch

I am off work this week so we are trying to do some fun things before the end of the summer holidays.  Unfortunately, for my daughter she had a tutor session before we went to the ice cream farm.  She is studying towards an entrance exam for admission to a grammer school so is going to her tutor's once a week.  At least she had a lovely day after :-)

I also went to my slimming world weigh in today - was disappointed that I had managed to put 1.5 lb back on - annoying but I do know why!  Back on track tomorrow and am going to start exercising again as I have really slipped with that too.

Book Review

I've just finished reading I Heart London - an easy, enjoyable summer read.

I Heart London (I Heart, #5)

I'm a member of http://www.goodreads.com/ where you can see readers reviews of books, keep track of what you are reading and then review the books yourself.  It allows you to see your own reading challenge and track the progress.  I've set myself a challenge to read 20 books this year - although having only recently discovered Goodreads and set the target, I'm not sure whether I will achieve it but I will have a really good try!

I love reading and am pleased that my daughter is also an avid reader like me, she loves visiting the library and has asked for a Kindle for Christmas.  She is also very untidy and disorganised but obviously she doesn't get that from me :)

My Chameleon

I thought I would show you my filofax.  This is my A5 Chameleon that I use during the week for work - although I do also have personal things in it.  I use a personal Malden at the weekend as it is lighter to carry around, so I do have to keep them both updated.

The leather has what look like little hearts on it.

This is what I see when I open it up.  The picture is from a birthday
card that I liked so I put it in here.  I have some Martha Stewart tabs
in the card slots along with some stamps.

This is a month on a page that I printed myself.  It just
gives me an overview.

Birthday list that I made.

I'm using the filofax dividers but have put my own
icons on them.  I have To Do, Notes, Financial,
Fitness, Books and Diary

This is a page from behind the notes divider.

This is a to do list, I'm using the filofax to do lists but am not
a big fan but I have them so will use them.

This is how I keep track of my finances - generally more going out
than coming in!

Behind my fitness tab - I'm trying to lose weight so I like to keep
track on what exercise I do.

Still under the fitness tab - this is my slimming world food
diary.  If I don't write what I eat down, I forget!

This is my books tab.  I like to make a note of books that I would
like to read so that I don't forget.

Then it is my diary.  This is a week for a few weeks ago.  I use
the Wo2P at the moment.  I've tried to have a Do1P but I like
to see my whole week in front of me.

I just have some spare paper in the back at the moment.  During
the week I generally have my kindle slotted in here but it is in my
Malden at the moment.

Standing up.  The pens I have are 2 uniball in red and blue and
a pilot frixion.

Last picture.

I really love the chameleon and enjoy using it.  I'm not entirely happy with the set up but it is doing an ok job for now.  I think set ups are always evolving and changing so I'm not bothered that it isn't quite right - it's fun to try different ways of working.

Welcome to Sweetpea - my new blog.  I've thought about doing this for a while and am finally getting round to it.  There isn't one specific theme to this, it will just be a collection of things that interest me enough to want to share them, although I will only be sharing them with me at the moment!

I will try and post at least once a week.  I read a few blogs but I am relatively new to all of this.  Have discovered blogs after buying a filofax and finding http://philofaxy.blogspot.com.au/.  I enjoy looking at how people organise and customise their filofaxes.  I also enjoy seeing what people carry in their bags - for two reasons; I love bags and I'm nosey!

I also prefer blogs with pictures so will be trying to include lots of them.  I have recently bought a new camera and want to try out different techniques.

I should say, I do flit from one thing to another quite a lot so don't be surprised if I have a new hobby every week!

In the car before going in

Outside the studio

Butterbeer - she loved it....

I didn't!!

That's it for now but as I don't want to leave a post without pictures, here are a few from a recent visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour - highly recommended if you ever get the chance to go.
